MIAM to Mediation the story

The idea behind MIAM to Mediation came from personal experiences within the family court system, and witnessing first-hand how separated couples sometimes struggle to find a common ground when resolving separation-related problems. The mission of MIAM to Mediation is to provide couples a voluntary process that seeks to find amicable solutions that satisfies all parties within a flexible, confidential and, self-determining environment.

About me

My journey to becoming a Family Mediator has been somewhat unique. After completing my law degree, I lived on a houseboat in Henley, before deciding to work on a ranch out in Colorado. After a stint in Okinawa, Japan with my three small children, I relocated back to the UK to raise my family and continue developing my professional career. Since then, my career has spanned across multiple industries, including the justice system, creative communications and, business development. I have since entered the coffee industry, where I successfully opened my own business and became a published author writing a book on my experiences as a barista.

The one thing that has stayed consistent throughout my career is my passion for helping others and being client facing. I have built MIAM to Mediation based off of these principles and I am passionate about helping people resolve issues without making an application to the court. I have worked within the Family Court system, and I believe that people who come to their own decisions about their own future and that of their family are able to move forward in a positive way. Future focusing is at the core of mediation and because it is a voluntary, self-determining process, clients are able to work through their problems together and eventually come to a mutually acceptable agreement.

I find my work as a Family Mediator incredibly rewarding. As a mother of three, I understand the importance of reaching resolutions that work for everyone and minimise the impact on a family's stability. I also understand the worries and concerns that separation can have on the division of finances and property. Helping people have conversations which may not always be easy is at the heart of what I do.
