MIAM
Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting
A MIAM is an initial, confidential meeting with a family mediator. The purpose of this meeting is to consider and establish whether you are able to resolve your issues without the need to go to court.

The mediator will guide you through the mediation process, explaining each step clearly to ensure you understand how it works. They will also discuss alternative options for reaching agreements, providing you with a comprehensive overview of the available pathways to resolution.

At the end of the meeting, the mediator will let you know if your case is suitable for mediation. You will have the chance to choose whether to proceed with mediation or explore other options for resolving your concerns. The mediator can also share information about additional services that provide help and support.
